slush
Its the first snow in Geneva and boy, it looks like winter wonderland with the blanket of snow. Ploughs aren't needed though as snow melts right away, like what they experience in Victoria or Vancouver after a rare snowfall. And Genevans are all covered up in their best splendour and élan with trenchcoats for guys and the ever-popular black stockings and leather boots for girls.

As I have told you in recent post, I take my statistics seriously. I want to say hi to my readers in the following Swiss cities: Wohlen, Trimbach, Fribourg, Ruswil, Dubendorf, Muri, Schnotwill, and Kilchberg. Being in Geneva, I find it hard to meet people of my host country and would be nice to know you. As always, feel free to post comments, and violent reactions if there are any.

Greets,
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm jealous. I love that slushy warm-cold kind of weather. Unfortunately we're gonna be stuck below freezing for a good couple of months yet...so depressing. :( Although it's been really nice this past week. According to your weather forecast, looks like your lows over there are gonna be on par with our highs over here. :P
You shouldn't worry about what you're wearing. Remember beauty is only skin deep. :P If people treat you differently based on what it is you're wearing, they ain't worth your time anyway. ;)

thanks dan, you're one of a kind! Yeah they have warmer temperatures here but I sometimes feel as little bit colder here than in Winterpeg as the humidity level doesn't go lower than 70 %. In Winnipeg, for a -20 day, humidity is low so the cold you guys feel there is a little bit dry. The difference I see is that they have slushy roads here as temperature hover around the -5 - -3 level but not as much black eyes as you guys have there in Manitoba. Moreover, they do not need to scrape their roads hard as the snow does not turn into hardened ice so roads are pretty much in excellent shape.
ReplyDeleteI think its some kind of adjustment to me as I got accustomed to the relax dress code style we had in the university so find it a big change to see rofessionally-dressed people around you.
